Essar Power Gujarat Limited (EPGL) celebrated National Safety Day on March 4th, 2024, alongside its employees and dedicated contract workers. Under the theme ‘Focus on Safety Leadership for ESG Excellence,’ this year’s celebration emphasised the critical role of safety leadership in shaping the organisational culture and driving sustainable development.
The celebration commenced with the inspiring rendition of the Essar Group Safety Anthem, followed by a solemn Safety Pledge undertaken by all participants. This set the tone for a day focused on acknowledging and underlining the company’s commitment to safety. The celebration also included insightful speeches by Heads of Departments, highlighting the importance of safety leadership and its impact on organisational success. At EPGL, leadership’s proactive involvement in safety initiatives is paramount to fostering a culture of safety excellence.
In recognition of the commendable efforts of the employees and workers in maintaining a safe workplace at EPGL, the company presented certificates of merit to outstanding departments and individuals. These awards were based on criteria such as the number of safety observations, participation in HSEF (Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire) awareness sessions, and the percentage of observation closures through its portal.

- 33% of the total plant area as green belt, with ongoing efforts to expand green cover annually.
- Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) into the environment
- Utilization of sewage treatment plant (STP) treated wastewater for irrigating our greenery
- Ensuring ambient air quality remains within permissible limits
- Utilising 100% of the generated ash
