Essar Ports, one of the largest private sector port company in India by capacity and throughput, has always gone beyond business and put people first, enabling and enriching the communities around the areas where its operates its businesses.
Essar Ports flagship bulk terminal at Hazira, along with Essar Foundation, have now come to support the #SchoolChalo campaign under its CSR initiative. They have always been at the forefront of community uplift and progress.
Recently Essar donated school uniforms to the students of Nav Jagruti Vidhya Vihar school in Hazira, with a view to support the school as it reopens after the pandemic. Essar donated the uniforms to the boys and girls of grade 9th & 10th, with each kid being given two sets (to 60 students). As physical schools resume, the donation drive was aimed at giving boost to education and learning.
The boys’ uniform consisted of trousers and shirts, while girls’ uniform comprised Salwar-Kameez. Apart from that, they were also given shoes, socks, tie, belt etc.. The drive was conducted on October 18, 2021 in the presence of Dr Mitesh Parekh (Principal of the School), along with Hazira Gram Panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Mr Bharatbhai Patel and his team, school committee members, elderly members of the village, guardians and parents.
