Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Limited (EOGEPL) has always been an organisation that is as much caring about the people living near its areas of operations, as it is about its employees. EOGEPL has therefore taken proactive steps to ensure the development of all sections of the society, especially children, youth, women and senior citizens. It focuses on their health, livelihood, infrastructure development, education and even interests in sports. It extends regular support to the local youth clubs, aanganwadi centres, schools and villages, while actively running many welfare initiatives, like Mobile Medical Unit, Sufalam and Neelsikha Rannaghar.
The Company’s years of consistent service towards the community have not gone unnoticed by the Government Administration. Officers from the local Block Development Offices and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Durgapur Sub-Division have all acknowledged the Company’s contribution towards holistic development, and have unanimously appreciated our active collaboration with the administration on several government-run programmes.
To recognise these contributions, the SDM Durgapur conferred on EOGEPL an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Corporate Social Responsibility’ to Company representatives at the Republic Day event this year, which was held at one of the biggest grounds at the heart of the city. EOGEPL accepted its award in the presence of thousands of people and many eminent guests who had come to attend the annual event. This was indeed a very proud moment for all of us because it is the first time that EOGEPL received such a commendation from the state government for its contribution to and concern for the society, and that too at a public forum of such magnitude.
