Over the years, Essar Foundation has taken consistent steps to address the critical needs of vulnerable communities, and hunger has always been a key focus area. Access to nutritious food is fundamental to health, dignity, and resilience, and supporting this need helps build stronger, more stable communities.
In the past, Essar Foundation has partnered with orphanages, shelter homes, old-age homes, and institutions supporting physically and mentally challenged individuals, ensuring they have the sustenance they need. These initiatives have always been guided by a commitment to long-term, meaningful engagement, rather than short-term relief.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought this focus into sharper relief. Institutions that had long relied on external support suddenly faced severe shortages, making it difficult to provide regular meals to those who depended entirely on their care. Essar Foundation responded by providing ration support, helping ensure that children, elders, and other vulnerable members of society could continue to receive the nourishment essential to their well-being. Hunger, as we saw, is not just the absence of food -it impacts physical health, emotional stability, and overall resilience.
In 2025, Essar Foundation continued this journey by extending support to a wide range of institutions, including Apna Ghar, Sai Aadhar Ashram, Sai Prasham Foundation, Jeevan Anand Sanstha, Sarada Shishu Niketan, Sahayog Sankaran Jivadaya Trust, Sai Seva Ashram, Little Angels School, Jay Janardan Swami Anath and Vrudha Ashram, Sahyog Vridh Ashram, St. Francis Orphanage, Don Bosco Shelter Home, Meher Ashram, Sanjivini VOICE, the transgender community (Kinnar), and Juvenile Observation and Rehabilitation Centres. Each initiative represents more than nutrition; it is a step toward hope, dignity, and resilience for the communities we serve.
These efforts remind us that the journey to support hunger and well-being is ongoing, and it continues to make a real difference in the lives of the communities we serve
