Essar Foundation’s Sahej provides over 6000 sanitary napkins to Maharashtra’s tribal women

Essar Foundation’s marquee menstrual hygiene initiative, Sahej, reaches the tribal women of Maharashtra’s Raigad district.

With the support of Government of Maharashtra’s Raigad district administration and Global Shapers Community Navi Mumbai Hub, over 6,000 sanitary napkins were supplied to the hamlets of Alibag. These areas include Kamarli, Borgaon, Kurmurli, Virani, Chandepatti, Veloshi, Saymal, Kasmal, Ambeghar, Ambeghar Katkari Wadi, Sawarsai, Goulanwadi, Sawarsai Katkari Wadi, Diwanmal, Vetalwadi, Amebeghar Adiwashi Wadi, Bangarwadi.

Volunteers also demonstrated the usability of the Sahej App to tribal and adivasi women thereby emphasising the importance of better menstrual health.
