Community engagement at Essar Foundation is rooted in everyday responsibility, toward the people who work alongside us and the communities we support. In 2025, the Foundation undertook a series of initiatives that reflected its focus on recognition, care, education, and inclusion, touching lives in meaningful ways.
The Foundation’s efforts began close to home, acknowledging the dedication of those who support Essar House every day. In a quiet yet meaningful way, staff were appreciated for their contributions, and children of contract workers were recognised for their achievements in school. These gestures strengthened the bonds within the workplace and strengthen the Foundation’s commitment to encouragement, education, and valuing the people who make daily operations run smoothly.
This spirit of engagement naturally extended beyond the workplace to children in underprivileged communities. In memory of the late Chairman Shri Shashi Ruia, Essar Foundation organised VIVA XMAS 2025, welcoming hundreds of children for a day of fun, learning, and shared experiences. Cultural activities, interactive sessions, and opportunities to participate created moments of joy and connection, reminding us of the difference that attention and care can make in young lives.
The Foundation also worked closely with children at St. Francis Orphanage and differently abled children at Little Angels School, Mumbai. Across these engagements, the focus was on creating supportive environments where every child could participate, enjoy, and feel valued. Seeing their smiles, curiosity, and enthusiasm reinforced the impact of steady care and attention, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to education, inclusion, and holistic well-being — beyond any single celebration.
