At Essar Foundation, we believe that opportunity can change everything. That when young people are given a chance, they rise—not just for themselves, but for their communities.
This year, we are proud to renew our support for the Vibrant Football Club—a team of spirited young athletes from the slums between Kandivli and Dahisar. These boys may come from modest beginnings, but they dream big. And through grit, determination, and hours of hard training each week, they’re turning those dreams into goals—both on and off the field.
Now competing in multiple tournaments under the Mumbai Football League, the team’s journey has grown in scale and ambition. The league—Mumbai’s premier footballing platform—is more than just a competition; it’s a launchpad for talent, character, and change. And Vibrant FC is right at the heart of it.
As Dominic D’Souza, COO-CSR, Essar Foundation and the team’s coach, puts it, “Every training session, every match is shaping these boys into young men with vision and grit. Football is giving them the confidence to dream bigger and push harder — on the field and in life. At Essar Foundation, we see this as an investment in character, community, and lasting change.”
In parallel, our commitment to the boys of St. Francis Orphanage continues to deepen. This year, we have adopted their participation in school and local tournaments, nurturing a new generation of young talent through structured training and mentorship. These budding players may one day wear the Vibrant FC jersey—but more importantly, they’re building the confidence and skills to shape their own futures.
Last weekend, we hosted a special fellowship evening and dinner for the players of Vibrant FC and the boys from St. Francis Orphanage. It was a moment of joy, camaraderie, and shared dreams—a reminder that belonging and recognition are just as important as the game itself.
The tournaments run through April 2026, and as they unfold, so will stories of courage, teamwork, and transformation. Essar Foundation remains deeply committed to this journey—because when we invest in young lives, we don’t just change their game.
We change the score for entire communities.
