Essar Ports proudly took part in the Logistics Outlook’s Multimodal Confluence 2025, a premier industry event held on 27th June 2025 in Mumbai and organised by ITP Media Group. This marquee event brought together leaders from across the logistics, infrastructure, and transportation spectrum to deliberate on the next phase of logistics growth, sustainability and role of technology in ports and logistics.
With the theme centered around multimodal integration, infrastructure innovation, and the growing need for smart, sustainable logistics, the conference provided a timely platform to discuss how ports can evolve as key enablers of India’s economic ambitions.
Essar Ports’ Vice President, Tarkesh Tiwari, was invited to join a high-powered panel discussion titled “Beyond Trade: The Need for Smarter Ports.” He shared the stage with eminent voices from the sector, including Samir Shah (JMB Group), Dr. Pramod Sant (formerly with Siemens), Daljit Singh (Port of Antwerp-Bruges), and Shweta Shalini (Cybersecurity Specialist).
Mr. Tiwari’s insights emphasised the evolving role of ports in today’s rapidly digitising world. He spoke about the critical convergence of technology and physical infrastructure — a hallmark of smart ports — and how innovations such as automated mooring, autonomous cargo handling, and digital twin technology are redefining operational benchmarks in safety, speed, and cost efficiency.
He also highlighted Essar Ports’ commitment to driving transformation through data-driven design and resilient infrastructure, positioning the company as a forward-looking player aligned with India’s broader digital and sustainability goals.
The panel addressed not just the need for robust maritime infrastructure, but also the importance of strengthening last-mile connectivity through road, rail, and, increasingly, inland waterways and air logistics — areas where India’s progress must accelerate.
A standout message from the discussion was the shift from incentive-led growth to ecosystem-led collaboration, where private and public sectors co-create solutions that are scalable, tech-enabled, and globally benchmarked.
As India aims to emerge as a global logistics hub, events like Multimodal Confluence are vital in shaping policy dialogue, aligning industry stakeholders, and reaffirming the importance of innovation, integration, and sustainability — values that are deeply embedded in Essar’s vision for the future.
