Senior petroleum ministry officials laud EOGEPL’s Raniganj East CBM Project

Shri Amar Nath, Additional Secretary Exploration, MoPNG along with Shri C Laxma Reddy, Additional Director General-Exploration, DGH, visited the Raniganj Project Office and field sites on 30th October, 2021. Shri Santosh Chandra, CEO, EOGEPL hosted the delegation and showcased the work done by Essar in the field of CBM clean gas production.

Shri Amar Nath visited the Field Offices Main Compression Station, operational sites and the C-CBM (CNG) facilities in Gopalpur. The various operational aspects and support required from MoPNG for expediting ramp-up of the production from the field was deliberated. Mr. Nath and Dr. Reddy appreciated the indigenous successful CBM development efforts by Essar and assured of necessary support which will help increase the gas output in line with India’s march towards a “Gas Based Economy’’ and “Atmanirbhar Bharat’’ in clean energy production and supply.

As a part of technology innovations in CBM sector in India, EOGEPL is also implementing a radial drilling trial in the block and the Mr. Nath visited the site coinciding with the start date for this activity. They also planted a sapling providing boost to EOGEPL’s environmental green belt effort. Essar’s Raniganj Project is a showcase of CBM development and success of CBM in India and continues to draw regular delegations from the parent ministry, sector regulator and academia.
