Diwali, a festival of lights, was celebrated at Essar House, Mahalaxmi in a grand fashion. On 24 October 2019, Essarites celebrated both the festival, and the fact that Essar completes 50 years of its journey this year. The Essar family prides itself on values that inculcate and promote diversity and inclusivity. Keeping this in mind, the theme for the Diwali celebrations this year was ‘Paint Essar, this Diwali’ in conjunction with the golden jubilee celebrations.
Each floor of the 22-storey Essar House was given a colour theme to work with while decorating their floor. As the floors competed for coveted prizes, a feeling of family emerged as all the employees strived to make their floors Brighter, Bigger and Better than the rest. The spirit of Essar truly came out as each floor adorned the space with the assigned hue, while creating a visual narrative of Essar’s journey through the years. Lights, rangolis, steamers, buntings, to scale models, a bioscope… Essarites went to great lengths to make their floor stand apart from the rest.
The empanelled judges, who were tasked with the responsibility of choosing winners across various categories, went from floor to floor absorbing the story each floor had to share. Choosing the winners was indeed a task for them. As one of the judges aptly pointed out: The winner was the entire Essar House itself!
The celebrations of the day concluded with an evening event featuring prize distribution and performances from the floors. Some extraordinary talents came forth in the form of poetry, shayari, singing, rapping and acting! While the day’s celebrations came to an end, the festivities continued across Essar House. We wish everyone a joyous Diwali filled with love, happiness and prosperity.
