For the 6th year in a row Essar Foundation has joined hands in the grand celebration of new enrollments in state-wide initiative of Govt. of Gujarat. The drive named ‘Shala Praveshotsav’ was celebrated for newly enrolled students in 4 schools and 5 anganwadi centers in and around Hazira village.
At the events held in Hazira Primary School and Nav Jagruti Vidya Vihar school on 14th June, 750 students were welcomed with special fanfare and received kits containing school uniforms, books, notebooks and stationery. Like each year, new learning aids, games and toys for Anganwadi centers were also provided.
Dr. M M Lakhani (Additional District Health Officer-Class I) along with Hazira Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Sh. Dharmendran Bhai Patel, Dy. Sarpanch Sh.Bharatbhai Patel and his team, former Principal of Primary School, School Committee Members, elderly members of the village, guardians and parents were present.
The initiative is an aid for motivation especially for students in Std 8th to continue studying further. The uniforms along with learning materials act as an encouraging factor for both the students and parents to continue the pursuit of education and limiting the chances of dropouts.
