Essar Steel India’s Hazira facility has won the prestigious Ispat Suraksha Puraskar 2016 in the Integrated Steel Plant category for the best safety performance.
The Ispat Suraksha Puraskar 2016 was awarded for “No Fatal Accident during the Calendar Year 2014-15” across three zones:
- Coal, Coke & Chemical
- Blast Furnaces, Slag Granulation Plant, Sinter Plant & Raw Material Department
- Centralised Maintenance, Utilities, Services, Rail & Road Traffic
The award was presented by Mr SS Mohanty, Director (Technical), SAIL, and Chairman – JCSSI (Joint Committee on Safety, Health & Environment in the Steel Industry), at an award function held at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on 22nd January 2016.
