Essar Steel participates in the Future Ready Combat Vehicle Seminar 2016, an Indian Army initiative.

The Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV) Seminar 2016 held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi saw participation from various nodal agencies and manufacturers including senior Army officers from the directorate of mechanized forces, Scientists’ from DRDO, Procurement & acquisition officers from the Army HQ, Officers dealing with MRO, Quality Assurance officers, Manufacturers and developers of combat vehicles and Manufacturers of combat vehicle’s sub systems.

A perfect platform to engage with the key decision makers and effectively interact with top customers and prospect in the environment of choice, Essar Steel capitalized the opportunity and participated in the seminar. Mr. Deepak Gupta (Chief – R&D & Quality Assurance & Control, Quality) also made a presentation on Essar Steel’s capabilities in manufacturing Special Steel for Defence Application. The presentation was liked by many, as a result participants flocked at Essar Steel’s stall for more information. Special mention is made to the visits by Lt. General A. B. Shivane, Director General of Mechanized Forces, Army HQ and P. K. Mehta, Director General Armament and Combat Engineering Systems, DRDO.

The objectives of the FRCV Seminar is to review the requirements of future main battle tank and family of combat vehicles for the Indian Army from the users perspective, to discuss next-gen mobility, firepower, protection technologies and survivability, to assess what industry has on offer and their capabilities and to examine ways and means of closing gaps in current capabilities of combat vehicles.

The FRCV has to be designed and manufactured to be relevant for the next 50 years according to Retd. Lt. General Aditya Singh.
