Essar Steel, Hazira has won the prestigious Ispat Suraksha Puraskar 2017. It is for the fourth year in a row, that Essar Steel has been judged as best the steel plant under the Integrated Steel Plant category for its Safety performances.

It was awards under the following three zones i.e.
1. Coal, Coke & Chemical Zone
2. Rolling Mills Zone
3. Blast Furnaces, Slag Granulation Plant, Sinter Plants & Raw Material Zone
The award was presented by Mr. R. K Tripati, Executive Director (SSO), Mr. S. K. Saha, Executive Director (SAIL) & Vice Chairman (JCSSI) & Ms. Kamakshi Raman, Executive Director – HRD (SAIL) & (JCSSI), to Essar Steel at an award function held at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on 18th March, 2017.
