The 2×600 MW Salaya plant has received CII’s (Confederation of Indian Industry) prestigious Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award for the second consecutive year.
Essar Power Gujarat Ltd (EPGL), the company that operates the Salaya plant, has been successful in considerably reducing the Salaya plant’s carbon footprint over the last three years. It has been a journey of continuous improvement driven through a range of innovative energy conservation projects that have reduced the overall energy consumption of this state-of-the-art imported coal fired plant.
The 18th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2017 were given away on 30-31 August 2017 in Hyderabad. Following its presentation to the awards panel, EPGL was shortlisted among the five companies, including NTPC Ramagundam, NTPC Sipat, Vedanta and Nabha Power, who were conferred with the award.
