Two-thirds of Gujarat’s Dang district live below the poverty line, and nearly 95% of the inhabitants are tribals. Dang experiences extreme climatic conditions characterised by hot daytime temperature and chilly nights. To help the Dangs see through the harsh winters, Essarites of Essar Power Hazira conducted a winter donation drive as part of the ‘Sattar Minute’ employee volunteering initiative.
The collection drive saw over 1,000 woolens, blankets, slippers and biscuits being collected. With the support of Sanjeevani Charitable Trust and village community leaders of Ahwa, Ghogly, Ambapada and Swaraj Ashram, Essarites handed over the items to 700-plus tribals.
