Essar Ports, one of India’s largest private sector port and terminal developers and operators, have added yet another milestone in its journey. Recently, all employees of Essar Vizag Terminals Limited (EVTL) voluntarily took the ‘Swachhta Pledge’ and decided to undertake ‘Shramdan – Housekeeping Drive’. Essar Ports is one of the flagship assets under the infrastructure portfolio of Essar Global Fund Limited (EGFL). The fund is managed by Essar Capital.
The activity was arranged with a purpose to collect all unnecessary items, scrap, thrash and garbage lying in terminal premises and dispose-off them at designated places.
All EVTL employees, Operations & Maintenance agencies, and other agencies took part in the Shramdan drive. To mark the occasion, the staffers took a pledge to donate 100 hours in a year and two hours per week towards cleanliness, and keep the EVTL office and premises clean. They also resolved to spread more awareness about cleanliness among their families, as well as their localities, and encourage 100 other people to do Shramdan.
Essar Ports believes in giving back to the community in every way, and keeps excellence at its core. The company’s terminals are equipped with advanced cargo handling infrastructure and are well-poised to double capacity in the near to medium term.
Essar has been investing extensively in developing and building state-of-the-art mechanised terminals that provides a competitive edge. The objective is to ensure visibility of cargo, handle cargo in most efficient and environment friendly manner, and to handle bigger vessels with faster turnaround – paving way for lower logistics cost.
