Hazira port, which is one of the flagship ports of Essar, along with Essar Foundation, recently supported the #SchoolChalo campaign under their community initiatives. They donated school uniforms to the students of Nav Jagruti Vidhya Vihar school in Hazira. With offline schools having reopened after the pandemic, the uniforms of most children had either been outgrown, or were too old to wear. The foundation donated two uniform sets each for the boys and girls of grade 9th of the school. The initiative was part of Essar Ports’ efforts towards community uplift and progress. We hope the contribution helps giving a boost to the education and learning of these kids.
The students of Nav Jagruti Vidhya Vihar, Hazira, have been supported with uniforms by Essar in previous years too. Hence, this year’s contribution also helped set the continuation of this tradition Essar post pandemic. The boys uniform consisted of trousers & shirts, while girls uniform comprised salwar-kameez. Apart from these, the children were also given shoes, socks, tie, belt etc.
The uniform distribution activity was conducted on July 1, 2022, in the presence of Naresh Gamit (In-charge of the school) and Dr Mitesh Parekh (Formal Principal of the School), along with Hazira Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Smt. Madhuben Rahod and her team, school committee members, elderly members of the village, guardians and parents.
