Essar is committed to the education of the underprivileged. Despite belonging to low strata income groups, children from difficult social backgrounds understand the importance of education, aspire to receive quality education and possess the will to work hard to uplift their family out of poverty.
Essar Foundation recently supported Paasbaan E Adab Foundation’s book distribution initiative at Govandi’s BMC School #2 in Mumbai. Books were provided to underprivileged students belonging to standard 1-10 of the school.
Mr Quaiser Khalid, IPS Commissioner of Police, Mumbai Railways, graced the event and distributed the books amongst the students. He also shared his success story and stressed the importance of education.
Essar Foundation, the CSR arm of Essar, works closely with the communities towards enhancing lives touching environment, health, education, livelihood, women empowerment, sports, and infrastructure.
