
Nagwa, Singrauli (MP)
For the last six years Essar Foundation has been closely working with the Saraswati Shishu Mandir school in Nagwa village of Singrauli, supporting keenly in improving the infrastructure, resources and quality of education in the school.
The school has consistently been on an upward drive, with students performing better in academics, arts and sports with each passing year.
This year 58 students appeared in the Std X board examinations of which 27 passed with first division and total pass percentage of the school is 80%. Most students come from low income families, including some who are first generation learners.
To encourage the achievement of the meritorious students they were invited to a special function held recently at the plant site of Essar Power Madhya Pradesh Limited (EPMPL). The students were felicitated by Mr M G Gupta (CEO, EPMPL), Mr M K Sharma (COO, EPMPL) and Mr S Kush (President, EPMPL).
The Principal of Saraswati Shishu Mandir was also a participant at the function, whose efforts along with the teachers of the school in nurturing the children’s abilities were hugely applauded by the EPMPL leadership. The students also participated in an interactive session on career guidance held by the Human Resources and Technical teams of EPMPL.
