Essar Foundation and AGC Networks have once again come together with yet another noble initiative. This time, they have offered wheelchairs to 27 differently abled patients undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai.
These patients were suffering from spine injuries which has impacted their day to day mobility. Each wheelchair is specifically customized so as to provide maximum mobility and comfort to the person using it, thus offering respite to their support system including family members who had to physically carry the patient around all the time.
The Foundation team coordinated with the hospital to ensure that the project provides maximum benefit to the community. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anjana, Head Coordinator of the initiative and Doctor at AIIPMR, said, “This gesture on part of AGC Networks and Essar Foundation will be a life changing scenario and support to the patients and their family, many of whom have struggle to finance their long and painstaking treatments.”
Mr. Dominic Dsouza, COO – Essar Foundation said, “Over the years, the Essar has continuously provided support to the patients of AIIPMR. We also collaborated with the hospital to assist the hospital’s efforts to deal with the global COVID pandemic. We hope to continue this association and provide the much needed support and a better living to the disabled.”
