Chief of Naval Staff visits Essar Steel stall at DefExpo
Apr 1st, 2016
Key among the many high profile visitors to the Essar stall at the ongoing DefExpo India 2016 in Goa (28th March – 31st March 2016) were the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral RK Dhowan, Secretary for Defence Production, Mr Ashok Kumar Gupta and Joint Secretary for Ministry of Steel, Sri Syedain Abbasi. The visit is testimony to Essar Steel’s increasing importance as a supplier of indigenous Defence grade steel plates to the Indian Armed Forces.
Essar Steel is currently the only Indian steelmaking company capable of manufacturing steel grades that are used to build battle tanks, armoured vehicles and warship hulls for the Army and Navy. This is probably why it is also the only Indian steel company that is exhibiting its impressive product range at DefExpo India 2016, along with over 1,000 defence equipment suppliers from 47 countries.
DefExpo is a niche platform where exhibitors display the latest technologies and products, targetted exclusively at the Defence sector, to a global audience. The event is therefore helping Essar Steel reach out to potential clients from around the world and learn from a focussed peer group. Essar Steel’s stall showcased not only its competence in developing defence grade steel, but also its capabilities in heavy plate making and heavy engineering.
