58 MTPA Vadinar Oil Terminal

Essar commissioned the Vadinar Oil Terminal Ltd (VOTL), which is one of Essar’s most picturesque facilities and is currently operated by Nayara Energy, in 2006.

Strategically located at the southern tip of the Gulf of Kutch, VOTL is a 58-MMTPA facility consisting of a marine terminal; crude, product and intermediate storage tankage of over 3 million cubic metre capacity, and rail and road gantries with 13 kms of railway siding. These facilities are critical for the successful operation of Essar’s 20 MTPA Vadinar Refinery.

Proximity to India’s only marine sanctuary and the Indo-Pak border, 24*7 complex operations, weather and tidal fluctuations. The marine terminal was the best performing terminal in the Kandla Port Trust (KPT) for two consecutive years.

*The Vadinar Oil Terminal was part of the US$ 12.9-billion Essar Oil Deal with the Rosneft-Trafigura consortium. The Vadinar Oil Terminal and its subsidiaries are financially and legally independent from Essar. Essar Oil Limited is currently known as Nayara Energy Limited.
