Essar Steel's plant at Hazira has increased the
capacity of its Hot Rolled Pickled & Oiled
products (HRPO) mill at its steel complex at Hazira.
The mill now has two HRPO lines with a combined
annual production capacity of 1.3 million tonnes.
This facility will equip the Company with the
capability of offering the products for intermediate
as well as end use applications. The mill is equipped
with an electrostatic Oiler to provide uniform
oil coating within close tolerances as per customer
specific requirements. This mill will cater to
the demand of niche segments in the domestic and
export markets.

HRPO steel finds application
in varied industries including automobile component
manufacturers, compressor shells, fabricators,
cold rolling, boiler pressure vessels, transport
industry etc. HRPO is a preferred material over
normal HR coil owing to its inherent advantages.
HRPO is free of mill scales and oiling provides
anti rust protection and lubrication during die
stamping, ensuring cleaner surfaces suitable for
painting. This improves the durability and workability
of the material at a lower cost.
The HRPO products are available
in thicknesses ranging from 1.60mm - 6 mm and
widths ranging from 200mm-1676mm.
