Shashi Ruia
Shri. Shashi Ruia,
Chairman, Essar
Group ,is an entrpreneur and visionary with significant
contributions to the core sector economy in general
and the steel industry in particular. In a span
of two decades, Shri. Ruia has played a significant
role in promoting India's industrial growth.
He has been instrumental
in leading the prompt foray in several new businesses
such as steel, power, constructions, shipping
and oil & gas.

Shri. Ravi
Ruia, Vice Chairman, Essar
Group, is an Engineer by training and background.
His entrepreneurial ability, innovative spirit
and an eye for detail has enabled the Essar Group
to gain recognition among India's leading business
houses. Essar is the fourth largest industrial
house in India in terms of assets.
Shri.
Ruia has played an important role in steering
the Essar Group to its pre-eminent position. He
is a business strategist and has been responsible
for setting up Essar's overseas ventures.

Shri. Prashant
Ruia
Shri. Prashant Ruia, Director, Essar
Group, graduated from the University of Bombay
with a Degree in Commerce. He is a young and dynamic
industrialist who is a Director on the Board of
the major companies in the Essar Group.

Shri.
Rewant Ruia
Shri. Rewant Ruia began his career in the
Essar group with a short span of training in the
flag ship businesses of steel and oil and is a part
of the management think tank for New Business Development
opportunities in steel, petroleum and petrochemicals
and the pursuit of global opportunities in all the
businesses. Shri. Rewant Ruia completed his school
education from the Hackley School, New York and
holds a degree in Business Management from Bentley
College, Boston, USA. |

Mr. S. V. Venkatesan
Born in Calcutta
in October 1939 Mr. Venkatesan is a gold medalist
in Commerce from Madras University. His career
with State Bank of India, the largest commercial
Bank in India, spanned over 24 years. At SBI Mr.
Venkatesan held important responsibilities in
India and abroad. He was part of the team that
set up the Offshore Banking Branch of SBI at Singapore
in 1977. He has had a wide international exposure
in banking and finance.
In 1986, Mr. Venkatesan joined the Essar Group
as the Group Financial Controller, Since then
Mr. Venkatesan has been spearheading the finance
function for the entire Group and has been largely
responsible for the resource mobilization through
Capital Markets and Institutions to fund the large
capital intensive projects of the Group.

Mr. J. Mehra
Mr. J. Mehra
has more than 37 years experience in the Steel
Industry. A Graduate in Chemical Engineering,
he started his career with Steel Authority of
India Limited (SAIL) where he worked in the various
steel plants of the company including a stint
as Chief of Corporate Planning of SAIL.
He left SAIL to take over as Director (Operations)
of Vizag Steel in 1992 and became its Chairman
cum Managing Director in 1993 and served in that
capacity for a period of 5 years.

Mr. V. G. Raghavan
Mr. V G Raghavan has been associated with Essar Group since 1976 and was appointed Director (Finance) in October 2003 after five years as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Essar Shipping Limited and Essar Power Limited. He has handled several special assignments in Essar Steel’s capacity expansion projects. Prior to joining the Essar Group Mr. Raghavan was employed by the State Bank of India.

Mr. Vikram Amin
He joined Essar
Group in 1987 and has held various assignments ranging
from contract drilling operations to steel business.
In 1992, he had moved to the Middle East from where
he developed the export market for HBI and Hot Rolled
Coils and sourced steel making raw materials for
Essar's Indian operations. As Director Marketing
in 1996 and then President Director of PT Essar
Dhananjaya in Jakarta since 1998, he was instrumental
for turning around the Company in the face of severe
economic, policitical and social conflict prevalent
in Indonesia at that time. Mr Amin was also responsible
for the Company's strategic entry into the export
market. The Board at its meeting held on October
25, 2004, appointed Shri. Vikram Amin as Director
(Marketing) w.e.f. November 1, 2004 for a period
of 3 years. |

Mr. Robin Banerjee
Mr. Robin
Banerjee joined Essar Steel in January, 2007.
Shri Banerjee is a Post Graduate in Commerce from
the University of Calcutta, a Fellow of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India, an Associate
of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
and an Associate of the Institute of Cost &
Works Accountants of India.
Mr. Banerjee has been with Hindustan Lever Limited,
ISPAT Germany GmbH as Managing Director &
Chief Financial Officer, and TMD Friction Beteiligungs
GmbH & Co KG as the Finance Director for their
global operations. Before joining Essar Steel,
he was Executive Director - Finance with Thomas
Cook (India) Limited.

Mr. K.V. Krishnamurthy
Mr. Krishnamurthy is Ex-MD
of Bank of India. He was appointed as Director
in Essar Steel Ltd. on October 31, 2006. He is
also a Director in several other companies such
as Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd.,
Sundaram BNP Paribas Trustee Company Ltd. and
JSW Steel Ltd.

Mr.
Sanjeev Shriya
Mr. Sanjeev Shriya has been
a Director of the Company since 1984 and has been
active in the industry for over 20 years. In 1978,
he entered the family business in Lohia Machines
Limited. He has also promoted several other companies
of which a few are engaged in technology related
activities including telecommunications and smart
cards.

Dr. G. D. Goswami
Dr. Goswami retired as Chairman and Managing
Director of Industrial Investment Bank of India
(IIBI) in 2000. before joining IIBI he served
in IDBI for more then 27 years. He was associated
with the apprisal of most of the large fertilizer,
petrochemical and chemical projects during his
tenure in IDBI. He also served as consultant to
Asian Development Bank and United Nations.
