The exemption of import duty on dredgers is expected to give a boost to the dredging companies as well as the port sector. Similarly, infrastructure status accorded to navigation channel in the sea is also expected to encourage increase in port capacity. The focus on setting up mega power plants and merchant power plants will lead to increased shipping activity for input feedstock etc . The exemption of import duty on coking coal may also result in enhanced imports and hence more shipping business.
