ESL's is not
just a large fleet but a safe one as well. Its fleet
handles a daily average of eight million barrels
of crude oil, 320,000 barrels of petroleum products
and 355,000 tonnes of dry bulk cargo. It has always
done so with responsibility and respect for the
global community’s health, safety and the environment
concerns. ESL's safety record is to the best in
the world. ESL's voyages have been safe because
the company has consistently complied with the stringent
quality and environment regulations laid down by
its clients as well as competent onshore and offshore
staff. ESLs fleet has successfully passed the scrutiny
conducted by international oil companies to establish
governance and sea worthiness standards.
It was the first Indian company to get the ISO certificate
from the Lloyds Register of Shipping in 1993. It
is also one of the first companies to be awarded
the ISM Document of Compliance in 1995, three years
ahead of the ISM requirement. ESL is now working
towards obtaining the ISO 9002:2004 and the International
Ship & Port Security (ISPS) code in addition
to getting the AMVER award. |
