Essar Ports gets final green nod for Paradip Coal Berth

The Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) has granted final approval for Paradip Port Trust's all-weather deep-draft coal berth in Odisha, India. The contract for a mechanized berth of 370m length with an effective handling capability of 14 to 18 million tons per annum had been awarded to Essar Ports on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis on a 30-year concession. Mr KK Sinha, CEO&ED of Essar Ports, discusses how the project will augment the company’s capabilities.
