Location & field data

The blocks cover more than 30,000 sq. km of combined area and are located in the western part of the island. The fields are situated in the North and South Morondava basin in Madagascar and in the vicinity of heavy oil discoveries.

Ownership

Essar owns three blocks: Melaky (3103), Morombe (3110) and Mahafaly (3115)

Current status

A PSC was signed on October 31, 2006. The project includes G&G studies, airborne gravity and magnetic surveys, seismic surveys and drilling of wells.
