Location & field data

The block (CB-ON/3), with an original area of 574 sq. km, is located in the petroliferous Cambay Basin, with a string of discoveries.

Ownership

Essar has 100% ownership of this block. ONGC as the licensee has 30% back-in rights.

Current status

• Production of about 800 bopd from ESU Field
• 180 sq. km of 3D seismic has been acquired and 1300 Lkm of 2D reprocessed
• Exploratory drilling of phase II is in progress
• Commercial discovery in Prospect A and F is currently under appraisal
• Intensified efforts to seek MoPNG approval to pursue CBM production in the block
