Essar Steel Minnesota LLC has access to iron ore resources of over 1.4 billion tons.
The company plans to set up an integrated pelletization plant on the Mesabi iron range in northeast Minnesota. The estimated cost of the project is US$1.60 billion; the plant will have an annual capacity of 4.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of pellets, when completed. The strategy is to combine a high-quality ore body with modern and commercially proven technology, and develop an integrated pelletization facility.

Paradip facility
Our 12 MTPA integrated pelletization facility coming up at Paradip is located in
the iron ore-rich state of Odisha, India. The site also benefits from its
proximity to Paradip port (3km away), giving us strategic advantages for
importing coal and other raw materials, and exporting pellets.
The Paradip project is being implemented in two phases. In April 2012, a 6 MTPA pellet plant was commissioned, which is part of Phase 1. Other facilities that will be set up under Phase 1 are:
