The fourth edition of the Infrastructure Excellence Awards, jointly initiated
by Essar Steel and E18 in association with CNBC TV18, was hosted in New Delhi, India.
Instituted with the objective of recognizing the 'nation builders' and felicitating infrastructure companies for excellence and strategic initiatives in the field of construction, these awards are the biggest infrastructure awards in the country.
The Infrastructure Excellence Awards received an overwhelming response this year with more than 150 nominations from over 70 companies. The evening of the awards witnessed stalwarts from the Indian infrastructure industry coming together to honor the achievements of a sector that is literally the backbone of the economy.
The Union Minister for Urban Development, Government of India, Kamal Nath was the Chief Guest for the awards ceremony and even felicitated the winners. The awards were conferred on the basis of overall excellence in execution of projects in highways and flyovers, railways, airports, ports, energy and power, oil and gas, telecom, urban infrastructure and water, and sanitation. AM Naik, Chairman of Larsen & Toubro, received the 'Infrastructure Leader of the Year' award.
The jury, comprising of experts in the field, conducted the evaluation process to select the best and the most sustainable value creator among infrastructure projects in various categories.
