The Essar Group was recently conferred the 2012 LearningElite Award by Chief
Learning Officer magazine, USA, as part of their annual program that honors
organizations for best-in-class practices in the area of learning and development.
The Essar Group is the only Indian corporate to earn this recognition.
Developed under the guidance of chief learning officers and senior workforce development practitioners, the CLO LearningElite is the only peer-based benchmarking initiative in the industry. This pioneering program utilizes best practices in evaluation to objectively assess both the scope and the value of the learning and development services that companies provide. It recognizes excellence in five key L&D performance indicators: learning strategy, learning execution, learning impact (internal), business performance results (external) and leadership commitment.
This recognition puts Essar in the league of global corporations such as P&G,
AT&T, Deloitte, Accenture, IBM, Xerox, and McDonald’s Corp among others,
and is testimony of the efforts undertaken by Essar towards becoming a true 'learning organization', by investing in people and capability development.
Earlier in 2011, Essar had been conferred the CLO Learning in Practice Gold
Award (Division I). This was the first major international commendation received
by the Group for its efforts in the areas of learning and organization development.
Instituted nine years ago, CLO Learning in Practice Awards are presented annually
to organizations that have successfully developed, delivered and institutionalized
wide-ranging, effective employee development and engagement programs in the
previous year.
CLO magazine is the foremost resource globally for HR professionals that covers best-in-class practices, research on human resources strategy, learning and organizational development.
